Jeff Treppel grew up in the untamed suburbs of Philadelphia. After graduating from the USC School of Cinema-Television’s Writing for Screen and Television program in 2005, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of, well, writing for screen and television. A few nervous breakdowns later, he and his writing partner, Kevin Almeida, have built up a diverse resume. They’ve worked on everything from children’s cartoons to live-action films with companies like Kung Fu Monkey (Leverage, The Player), Arthur Sarkissian (Rush Hour), Man of Action (Ben 10, Generator Rex), Arc Animation (Gnomeo and Juliet), Phoenix Pictures (Black Swan, Shutter Island) and Arad Productions (Spider-Man).
On his own, Treppel has also pursued the lucrative hobby of writing about heavy metal. His work can be found in Decibel, Bandcamp Daily, MetalSucks, Noisey: Music by Vice, Outburn, and whoever else will pay him. He has been obliquely threatened by arsonist, murderer, and white supremacist Varg Vikernes, so that has to be some sort of accomplishment.
He is also an avid boardgamer (although he isn’t very good at it).
